Echo Lake Elementary PTA is participating in the "Holiday Baskets" Food, Toys, & Teen Gifts drive to provide holiday food and gift support to Shoreline School District families in need. The effort is co-sponsored by the Shoreline PTA Council, Shoreline Fire Department, Hopelink, Rotary Club of Lake Forest Park, the City of Shoreline, and Dale Turner Family YMCA. Echo Lake's target food item is Pasta Noodles . In February, Shoreline School District PTA members will be heading to Olympia to talk with our representatives about Washington State PTA's (WSPTA's) Top 5 Legislative Priorities.  Time and again legislators have said how personal stories make the difference in creating and passing effective legislation that truly serves students and families.  We will be talking with them about these priorities for the coming year: Social Emotional Learning: Integrating social emotional learning and trauma informed practices in the education system. Reminder that the deadline for turning in Read-a-thon packets is Thursday, October 25. Thank you to everyone who participated. The money raised helps fund classroom/school enrichments, activities, grants, scholarships and more.The Read-a-thon ended on October 15th and now it's time to turn in the pledges. We are having a FREE family game night Friday, Sept 28, 6-8 p.m.  If you came to summer open library, you will be familiar with some of the games, but there will be new ones too.  Come play an assortment of games, buy some pizza or snacks and enjoy an evening with the family. The Echo Lake PTA is hosting its annual Back to School Potluck BBQ on Tuesday, August 28, 3:30-5:00 p.m., on the playground. Come join us!  The PTA will provide kosher hot dogs (including a vegetarian option), hamburgers, buns, condiments, chips and water, along with plates, napkins, utensils and cups. If possible, please bring something to share such as desserts, sides, etc. No need to bring for the whole school, 20-30 servings would be great. New this year! Sharing a few summer resources for Echo Lake families! Open Library on Wednesdays at Echo Lake The Echo Lake Elementary library is open again this summer every Wednesday, through August 15th. The open hours are 10:00 AM-12:00 PM and 6:00-7:30 PM. There will be special guest readers and prizes every week with popsicles, books, posters and much more!
